Music Re-conceived by Laurence Rosenthal
Laurence Rosenthal is the brilliant award winning composer of theatre, film, television and concert music. He has received two Academy Award nominations for the original score of Becket and his film adaptation of Man of La Mancha. Other film credits include A Raisin in the Sun, The Miracle Worker, Requiem for a Heavyweight, Return of a Man Called Horse, Rooster Cogburn and Who'll Stop the Rain. He has received seven Emmy Awards for work ranging from Michelangelo: The Last Giant; Catherine The Great starring Catherine Zeta Jones; The Bourne Identity; The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles to Inherit the Wind starring Jack Lemon and George C. Scott.
Mr. Rosenthal's accomplishments and awards speak volumes about the quality and scope of his wonderful work. Mr. Rosenthal, the 2006 recipient of the ASCAP Lifetime Achievement Award, also has a personal relationship to Kaufman's work - Mr. Rosenthal composed
the score for Sherry, the musical version of Kaufman & Hart's hit
The Man Who Came to Dinner. The recently released CD of the
score featuring Carol Burnett, Nathan Lane, Bernadette Peters
and Mike Myers not only received great reviews but is quite a hit.
Mr. Rosenthal joined the 3 TIMES 3 team to re-conceive and arrange the HOLLYWOOD PINAFORE original score and transform it into
a lively Broadway musical. The result of his work is an over-the-top wacky musical romp through the always fascinating and intriguing world of Kaufman's Hollywood. Mr. Rosenthal continues to create music that delights all audiences and has just completed an opera
Gilgamesh.
Invaluable Contributor: Anne Kaufman
Over lunch at New York City's Algonquin Hotel - the home of the
legendary Roundtable - while seated in front of a painting of Kaufman
and his literary comrades, Ms. Kaufman gave us her blessing and
agreed to let us produce her father's play.
Since then we have secured the worldwide rights to the show (including subsidiary rights) with Ms. Kaufman. We continue to enjoy a delightfully
rich relationship with the witty and stylish Anne Kaufman, an international theatrical treasure.
